The TA kept good faith basis for requesting a medical release and added the medical release threshold to go along with it.
Did someone tell you that the good faith basis went away? Or, is that something you just assumed?
I have been told it went away and from reading it feel that's what it said. Either way I don't see it as a big deal. The company does everything in its power to keep pilots off disability. Forcing pilots onto disability would be just plain stupid. Talk to pilots who have had real career threatening sick issues and I think you will find the vast majority if not all felt they had outstanding support from the company and Dalpa. I know one person right now in remission from Cancer. The company has bent over backwards to provide assistance.
