All operate for multiple mainline partners.

In order for Republic to staff their large operation they need to pay more, and therefore mainline needs to reimburse them more. Clearly they can afford it, but if say AA pays Republic more, they'd be subsidizing them for Delta and United feed as well. Same goes for Delta and United amending the contract and paying more.

With AWAC, AA can pay more and therefore guarantee staffing the flying, yet be reassured that all that money goes directly back to their bottom line.

My guess is that is why Delta has subsidized Pinnacle/Endeavor like they have, and AA has focused on adding capacity to their wholly owns. Yeah, they may cost a little more to operate but at least you're not subsidizing the other carriers' costs as well.

Looking at the highlights it would be a Yes from me if I were still there. One thing guys at the regionals need to understand is you're not going to see legacy/major contracts. It's just not going to happen, and having expectations for that is just going to set yourself up for failure. Take what you can get now. Especially with these enhancements, the AWAC contract is pretty damn good. With 200% pay for junior manning, and getting your day back on top of that, I would be begging to be getting JM'd. Every day.
We might get 150% on the day we can drop if we choose to work it. Definitely curious what they got.
