I think the only one as of late that had a "high success" rate for ratio of attendees to interview to hires was the Alaska ALPA event recently.
I've known more than one guy that didn't attend a single job fair, got called/hired. One had ZERO TPIC.
It's great it worked out for your ONE SPECIFIC friend, but you can't draw conclusive evidence that it's THE NORM.
We were told by Delta at INDOC that they get about 10% of their interviewees from conferences. The vast percentage come from internal recommendations. I still think it helps, and both myself and my friends who have been hired attended a conference AND had an internal rec.
It's an expense to attend, but never write off an opportunity to talk directly to a rep from a company you want to work for.
Also, the fix it email only comes if there is actually something to fix or expand on. The app could have been scored and put in a lower tier for hiring.
