There are plenty of people from TSA and Mesa who have gone straight to a legacy. It's literally the same regional as a place like Envoy or PSA just without a flow. The flow would be nice, but it's not like you won't ever get to a legacy from a non-wholly-owned.
Between ENY PSA & PDT only about 25-30% of hiring at AA is available for street hires. Unless you're a NASA rocket scientist, military pilot, or part of the family already, then you may as well cross AA off your list unless you're at one of their wholly owneds.
This year about 70% of all new hires at AA came from Envoy. They have had one (1) street hire on the AA side since March of this year. Everything else has been recalls and flows.
