The difference in those hired off the street vs the flows is eye opening. Especially on the PSA side. PDT guys for the most part are pretty good.

That being said the Eagle guys are class acts. Glad they are finally coming over.
Actually it is really true. ALG, PDT and PSA folks had the hardest time even getting an interview while Mesa, TSA, Commutair, and AWAC were getting interviewed and hired. Yes some WO'ed pilots got hired however few & far between. Not until US Airways gave the WO'ed Preferential interviews did they even start hiring at a respectable rate about 7 years ago.

There's eye opening pilots at every major airline (jumpseated on a few Majors where the Captain scared the hell out of me and his FO) and ever regional has those that have slipped thru the cracks for sure also.

I agree that it's not good that the door will be shut on many but then again it's good to see a Mainline Carrier taking care of it's own regional feed pilots. If American is okay with a pilot carrying it's paying pax on Eagle then why shouldn't it be okay to have the pilot fly at Mainline if they get through the training?

Like I said all airlines have a few that slip thru the cracks and accidents happen at every major and regional.

Then again even if the door is shut at American it only means more chances at Delta and United for sure.
