Yeah my biggest concern is I don't have the necessary field experience to be a Fed. I applied mainly to see how the process would play out, but I've only got 3.5 years of CFIing followed by a couple years of 135 freight under my belt.
The stability and opportunities presented by the position are hard to walk away from, but I wonder if I'm stunting a whole dimension of my career development if I confine myself to a desk overseeing a field full of people with far more experience than me.
