I am on deployment now and plan to get my ATP taken care of shortly after returning to homeport. Now, I have many friends in multiple majors that say submit my applications to all the majors and update as things go. The most I will get would be some light civil and thats about it. With 2 years to go, and I know this is simply speculation by anyone, will I be even a little competitive for a major? Thanks for the help!

Will you not be flying over the next two years?

I got hired with 2000 TT but 1700 in F-16 and rest multi-engine from UPT. I would say you have a good chance as long as you are maintaining 100 hrs over last 12 months.

That said my buddy just got back from OBAP and he hasn't flown in over 12 months but has 2000+ fighter hours and they told him to expect a call early next year. Currency matters but not in ALL cases. DAL and AA told him to go get a regional job to get 100 hrs in last 12 months.
Hope that helps a little.
