Yes, it's great how they give those seats to new hires and lock senior guys out. No matter what base you get, pack your bags and prepare for the TDY!
I posted earlier that if you don't get the equipment you want, depending upon how the company construes the work rules (or lack thereof) it can be upwards of 40 months. Another running rumor is that FL and IWA will be all Bus by the end of next year. The MD-80 bases are shrinking. Now only a fraction of PIE and SFB are -80, PGD will be all Bus by December. So it's possible by the end of next year the only bases on the -80 will be LAS, ENV, and the TDY summer bases like MYR and LAX. The good news is that if your in a base when it switches you "should" be allowed to jump. But without work rules? Yeah.
My class found out our assignment at the end of the third week, then they changed it. The confusion that you guys experienced when contacted by Allegiant about employment is the norm here. Getting someone to answer an email or pick up the phone in LAS is a challenge also. Get ready to spend hours watching your paycheck and fighting with crew services. Those days of you had will be getting rearranged... Stay Flexible!
