As a whole, I kind of like the balancing and other changes.. Reserves can pick up the opentime 72 hours in advance, the long calls aren't part of the balancing (I believe). So, for the most part, pilots who want to fly will and the others won't.

It's supposed to be that long calls are first to get called and ready reserves last, however LCR can be cancelled anytime and moved up to short call "should staffing require it"; so to answer your question: everyone is part of it. The current book has long call in it as well, the company just doesn't use it because it requires more planning. What makes you think that anything is going to be different?
