Skyhigh,

In general, I don't disagree with your opinion. However, <as I hijack this thread>, college (and aviation) is more than just an opportunity to learn useless info that you will never use again; but also, an opportunity to network and meet people in your field that you will see throughout your career until retirement.

My parents had his/hers strokes when they found out my brother joined a fraternity in college. When we think of frat houses we think of nude chicks, beer, pot bongs and cold pizza and so my parents had reason to be concerned.

Oddly enough, the networking my brother did at these drunkfests helped him land jobs at the ground floor with dot.com companies, RSA Data Security and another called Openwave.com. Next time you use your cell phone to browse the internet, you will see RSA provides the encyrption and Openwave provides the phone with the ability to browse.

Funny how you can network over cold pizza and warm Heinkens.
