The union told me that the company would pay for a hotel in the FDA for the duration of the assignment, so your family can come over. The union said we would just have to trust them and the company because they would not put the intent in writing. I can not believe the company will let you keep a room in the FDA if your trips are not into the FDA everyday. I used the link on the FedEx site to ask for a clarification but no answer in a week!!!! I think where ever you lay over is where you will get your room and you will have to pay for a room some days if your family stays the whole SVT assignment. If there is no chance of being assigned this then why not get rid of it.
