How many times would it take them to interpret the pay to say "That's the way we have always done it" and not payed you.

I have been through crappy summers on reserve and low seniority. Our sits have been getting longer and longer. I can completely see having a long sit at an outstation. There are limited flights. There is no reason we should be having long sits in SLC, SEA, SFO, IAH, MSP and DEN. These sits are being built because it is so cheap for the company to do it. What would be cheaper for the company? To pay you an extra hour or two, or to pay Jr Man pay to cover extra flying? Anything we give the company is abused and manipulated. Every time we try to "help the company out" it gets skewed and ends up screwing us all. Read on the SAPA forums about our last Cancellation Policy we tried to do on a temp basis. Once AS and JO found out how restrictive it was, they sabotaged it so that it wouldn't be renewed.

Our QOL will never get better until there is changes in the management in CS. We can do all the CSC forms in the world, but until they realize it's easier to work together, they will keep going down the path that we have been on for the last 6 years.
Disillusioned,

I am sorry that you have had such a crappy schedule and QOL. I completely understand your frustration. My comments were based on my understanding that the concept of "notifiable" would remain unchanged. Hell, even if we get the EFBs, you think I'm gonna have the data on when I'm at work? Nope!

That said, I want to encourage you to try and see things from the companies standpoint. Right now staffing is tight and they need flying covered. If they can reflow people to do it they are going to do so. The way they see it, the flying is THEIRS to assign and they pay our paychecks. I half agree with them.

That said, am I advocating for some of the issues that are happening? Not at all and I am equally frustrated by it. The staffing shortage is TOTALLY Skywests fault and we all know that. That doesn't mean you can't be empathetic, after all, we don't know how it feels to be in management.
