Coming to F9 from flying contract with the military, I can attest the biggest captain ego, lies at Frontier, specially the bunch that sat right seat for 1 day back in the 90s. Friendly no doubt, but def left seat mind set, far from how the military does it these days. UAL may have introduced CRM, but I honestly think the mil guys have fewer egos nowdays. Don't believe me, ask to taxi and do the left seat stuff when it's your turn to fly.
The fact that you admit to asking captains to violate the SOPs reveals that the CRM/ego problem is you. Whether you don't know the rules or know them and believe they don't apply to you, your request to taxi raises a major red flag regarding your judgment.
