I saw some numbers today in a post about what the bottom feeder in Japan is offering pilots to go there. $102,890 for a 1st year captain and $110,090 for a second year captain (the post mistakenly said 5th year captain).

Looking at the rates in this contract it is $62100 for a first year captain.

Why would you guys consider accepting $40,790 less per year than the other airline is offering?

There are few pilots out there willing to work for a US carrier for what they want to pay. Don't accept less than the 102,890. and 110,090., tell them you have a better offer.

Every airline union needs to show these numbers to their company and tell them that they have to do better than that. It is not speculation, it is the bottom of what is being offered.
