Can go either way honestly. ERJ you have a higher base wage (soft time paid at ERJ rate) plus the ERJ trips are longer. CRJ you probably would be flying the 200 at first which is a lot of short hops. If you live in ORD and don't have plans to go anywhere else, it wouldn't matter how many bases you had to choose from on the CRJ. You would be able to upgrade into ORD on the CRJ quick since it is going junior.
Problem is things change so quick. What is good today will be wrong in 6 months. I was hired into the RJ and only spent a small amount of time in ORD on reserve. I think my QOL would have been a little better on the EMB because everyone transitioned into the RJ in front of me. The same thing could happen to you on the ERJ if we get more flying or expand bases in that plane. I personally think we will be getting more flying on the ERJ, or at least SW is planning on getting more flying. So it is possible you could end up being Jr on that plane for a long time.
