Unfortunately, the psychiatrist that was brought in to assist in pilot selection at FDX (not sure if it was insurance/liability driven, or if a SCP decided to to bring him in of his own accord), helped create a "point" system for pilot apps. Under this new system an online degree - specially if it took one over 4 years to complete - is seen as a negative and will cause you to lose some points on the application (ridiculous, but beside the point). I heard this directly from the kind folks in Pilot Recruitment when I was helping a good friend in your situation.

There are solutions to overcome the 'point deficit' though. Two big ones: become a Line Check Airman at your current airline, or become a simulator instructor, anywhere. Again, this was straight from Pilot Recruitment about 18 months ago. No matter what, those would be great additions to your resume for any airline.
