Don't forget the Three-Holer
While the "Triple 7" will win the "best airplane ever built" (so far) contest, let's pay homage to the runner up and the "most fun to fly" airplane of the Boeings. (Drum Rolls please....) the 727.
How about some "rememberances" from some of the guys...and gals...who got to fly the "three holer". It could go high, go low, could go slow and could really run if you wanted to go with Saturday morning power (old freight dog term). Yea, it was loud but in the mid 20's there was nothing faster. I remember ORD Approach putting us at FL210 and asking for "best forward speed". A few minutes later we were asked what our indicated was and we truthfully replied "350+". Now that's a horse...just don't ask about the fuel flow.
To all the 72's ....I love you !!!!
