So the answer is; nothing happened ref the "capt bingo fuel" issue. Why? Because, blame was scattered elsewhere, and the FAA simply won't look further than what AAY tells them. There are too many steps for the FAA to take. If AAY only provides minimum details, as long as the FAA can show an honest mistake, then GB continues on!
As for the flight control issue. AAY has told the press and FAA that this too, was a mere one time event. They have inspected each aircraft, and there is no problem.......so,
Come on FAA; how many MD80 flights were cancelled/postponed for the critical fleet inspection? Oh wait, the answer is NONE! Why? Because there was no true inspection. If so....here it is....
AAY pilots.....have you seen one entry in your aircraft logbook of this so called inspection? I doubt it. Why? It has already been swept under the rug. I'd like to know if the out stations even have tail inspection capability? It's a fairly high tail.....have you seen a scissor lift at your base behind each and every md80 since the incident?
No logbook entry of these so called inspections; most stations without capability of even looking closely at the tail; but hey.......stock price is up!
Thanks FAA.....you're doing a great job!
