Spin, spin, spin. Just like IAH won't have to bump guppy's...largely removing the 777 from the pacific is the first step to downsizing the entire region. SYD is on it's way out already. Run away and hide, don't compete. Management has opened the door for American and Delta on routs we used to own. Now they are keeping the door open. Come on on in!

In the not too distant future, I see abandoning most of the Pan Am routes, to our Star Alliance partners, again....

The following report is from the System Schedule Committee's Manpower Subcommittee

The System Schedule Committee briefed the MEC in July on the general planned shift in 787-9 flying from IAH to the West Coast in spring 2016. The company has now released details of this plan. The effect on Staffing has yet to be fully determined but there are a few things we do know:

· In IAH, the manpower on the 767 and 777 is still in place for the return of routes that the 787 will be flying over the winter.
· In SFO, SYD and TPE will shift from the 777 to the 787 year-round. HND and ICN will shift seasonally for 4 months and 3 months, respectively. SFO 777 will also see a new CDG route along with the possibility of additional tags, W-trips and possibly some future domestic flying to make up for the loss of block hours.
· In LAX, the shift of SYD and LHR from the 777 to the 787 is more drastic, leaving just HNL with a W and possible future domestic routes to make up some block hours.

The company has stated it will monitor the block hour change and the attrition from LAX and SFO 777 due to Vacancy Bids and retirements over the coming months and, if necessary, make some adjustments with displacements by late fall/winter. These issues will be discussed with the company at the regular SSC meeting next week.
