Just got my hotel for new hire training. I'll be at the Crown Plaza. It looks pretty nice, maybe even renovated. Does not appear to have a kitchen, maybe a fridge. I'll be without a car. Has anyone stayed there before? What am I in for? Anywhere to walk to get cheaper food? How is lunch handled during training?

Just Google or Bing for some places. There are Winn Dixie and Publix grocery stores in the area, although a good walk in the heat. Several eating establishments closer to the hotel are Lester's Diner (highly recommended), El Tamarindo Café, Pollo Tropical, Anthony's Pizza, and a few fast food joints relatively nearby. Tom Jenkins is a great BBQ place around the corner and down the street a bit. It helps to hook up with somebody with a car, or you will be taking lots of showers after walking around in that heat.
