I'll second that. As a matter of fact, I hope everyone recalls CD and RZ both pledged in a communication to all the members on their election that they would not accept any company management position for at least 5 years.
I can not like this TA at all and not feel animosity at the MEC, NC, or officers. The people I know or have met in those positions all seem stand up types.
I have to think the NC and MEC think this is the best that could be done. The company has read the pilot group when they look past the NC to see who's standing behind them and they think this will pass.
I believe the company has misread us. I think this TA will be voted down (or at least it should be if the pilot group is engaged). I think we will eventually get a better TA because the pilots will have spoken and that support will make a difference. It won't be a quick or easy process, but I believe this TA will be a worse option through 2021 plus a few more RLA negotiating years than voting it down.
If the pilots vote for this TA, then the NC will have been absolutely correct based on their reading of the company and the pilot group.
There is a lot of inertia for the NO group to overcome. I have several friends who trust that if this was given to us, this is the best that can be done. If these minds can't be swayed with information, it will pass. Unfortunately, the road shows, "what you will make" charts, etc all are selling a YES vote.
The machine is geared towards trying to pass this.
