It's funny when guys that have finally moved on after the lost decade, post here in the regional section, and dream up scenarios where pilots get screwed because of X or Y happening. The paradigm has shifted, and they are stuck in the lost decade. The next decade will not look anything like the last one.
I am currently building my resume at Envoy (very junior), do you know what my plan is if the flow gets screwed? Go somewhere else! It's remarkable easy to find another job flying airplanes these days! With a couple of years 121 experience, LCC's are already taking guys like me. Overseas carriers are also starting to hurt for pilots. Pilot supply is only going to get tighter.
So, I guess I'm speaking to the new guys entering the 121 world when I say, don't stress too much about where to go. Your skills are in demand. If things don't work out at the place you choose, go somewhere else. With a couple of years experience, it will most likely be a move up.
It's a good time to be an airline pilot.
Stop making sense!!!! Eaglefly is right, everybody else is wrong!!! The flow will
Stop and Envoy will be merged with another carrier, and we are about to get an eye opener!!!!!!!!!!! The sky is falling!!!!
