You may be waiting longer than that if you have your hopes pinned on the 175. SkyWest is staffing it at 7 crews per airframe and we're currently just about at 300 crews either on line or in some phase of training. That's enough for 43 planes, and amazingly enough, we have 3 AK birds and soon to take delivery on our 40th (and final) UAL 175. The only deliveries we have left are on the AK side. Quite a few FO's will be reaching the end of their seatlock soon, and there may be a transition rush for PDX and SEA as the AK 700's go away next year. Unless we suddenly get more flying, my friends who've been in training recently are saying the instructors are planning on flying the line a lot more this fall (read: smaller and fewer classes).

If you get hired, take whatever you can get, don't hold out for the engines under the wings. Seniority is everything.
