A few things to consider...
The major issues we have here are from an understaffed maintenance department and a somewhat (being nice) incompetent maintenance control. 99.9% of the issues we have here are not safety of flight issues. Airplanes will not be falling out of the sky because of a high tail temp or because an IRU fails.
Previous experience and almost daily news clippings of engine failures, evacuations, flight control malfunctions and other emergencies tell me 99.9% might be understating the problem a bit.
