We are making record profits and revenue. On what grounds was our A fund ever at risk. Why is keeping a benefit we already have a win. Allowing it to continue to lose it's value to inflation is a huge concession. Just because it cost money and it is inconvenient for the company's books doesn't make me support the company eventually getting rid of it. If they keep it capped eventually it will have such little value they will be able to buy it from us for next to nothing.

Why do we need to give up anything. We are already working more legs with shorter layovers. No more city purity, almost no weekend layovers, unreasonable deadheads and deadhead banks, multiple trip extensions and revisions. Plus management has become adversarial with the crew force.

Remember we are coming out of the worst recession since the great depression. During this same time our company remained profitable and we saw profits almost quadruple. Giving up any work rules is concessionary. Read your union history you don't negotiate work rules EVER!!!
Ask UPS how the 767 sleep can promise worked out for them. It didn't they trusted management and got screwed.
The company will exploit all the concessions we give them just as they always have.
They can use company jumpseats on a limited basis. What do you think is going to happen with this over time. Lots of company jumpseats.
Reduction in class of service. What do you think is going to happen with this over time. Soon it will be Business if available.
Dash-8 intra Europe deadheads. Soon we will be doing this anywhere.
Paying $25 for every ticketing change. What's next paying for linens for your sleep room and using your deadhead bank money for extra sodas in your catering.

With record revenues, profits, huge management bonuses, buying companies, buying planes, building new facilities left and right, and oil has been stable around $40 a barrel, age 65 gives them 5 more years of work and 5 years less to pay out of our A funds. You are right genius it is obvious FedEx can't afford:
1) to give us more than a cost of living pay raise
2) to protect the value of my retirement (uncap the A fund)
3) to protect the value of my benefits (why am I paying more for the same benefits)
4) to improve work rules and leave the rest alone.

The company wants a decade long deal because they know it won't be long before one of these companies that has been bankrupt for a decade will get a better contract than we have.

You keep eating crumbs, trusting management, bleeding purple and watching your QOL erode from underneath you. I used to feel the same why but eventually you learn. Remember the union has a big budget we provide them to sell this deal. Just because they have fancy slides and great talking points doesn't make them right. They sound like used car salesmen or snake oil salesmen. Some of these clowns haven't been a line pilot in more than a decade. They need to spend a year or two back living the schedule and QOL they are responsible for giving us. I'm voting NO.
