Welcome aboard! Keep in mind that with the end of summer flying schedules, a lot of junior lineholders got pushed down to RSV, including some folks who hit the line in May / June and never had to sit reserve till now. So part of that change is seasonal.

Commuting to reserve, as you will be doing, is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, especially if you're doing a hub to hub commute during the jam-packed holiday travel season. That said, all of us would be surprised if the LA domicile doesn't get more flying, given the company's lack of a displacement bid.
