How does that not make sense?

Also, you assume a lot...........
Try pulling your head out of the sand and imagine this scenario. You guys barely are able to staff the 24 options that you are taking delivery of over the next year. Half way through your options when you are running classes of only 10 a month, (cause let's face it, once the cats out of the bag on the upgrade being gone, with no flow, bonus, and terrible pay, and the worst bases of any major regional, why would anyone go there?) the staffing crisis will blind side management like a freight train leading AAG to announce that the remaining Envoy CRJ 700s you are supposed to get will be rerouted to either Air Whisky or maybe even Mesa or Skywest. That announcement will trigger the mass exodus of junior FOs, afraid of being stuck at a stagnant airline. All your 900s will have been delivered, no more used 700s will be coming, and eventually as things deteriorate AAG will be forced to sacrifice the 200s to keep the 900s flying. This my friend will trigger your "unthinkable and impossible" displacement bid. Grab the popcorn, cause this iceberg is only 12 months out.
