Second if you take the CRJ the only movement will be forward. No one will be transitioning to it to push you down. If for instance you hold a line within a couple of months you'll likely always hold that line. On the E175 the only movement you're going to see is backwards. Once a Delta contract comes up, or once new west coast bases open that give CRJ guys a reason to bid over to it they will. You may hold a line your first month on the E175, then sit reserve for another year after that while you keep moving down.

Who knows. Maybe it won't work out that way. I'm senior to you though and the second the E175 gets delta benefits I'll bid it. Hundreds of other people senior to you will do the same. If a Delta contract does come up anytime soon you'll regret your decision not to take the CRJ.

Third, and this probably only matters if you plan to live in base, but the E175 has barely any short trips. You're going to do nothing but non-commutable 4 day trips while you're junior. The CRJ has a much better trip mix with locals, 2 days, and plenty of commutable 4 days. There are many more CRJs so the trip mix is better. That's another reason I haven't bid it yet. I live in base and like short trips.
