However there was another guy on the list that is senior to me but, he is in group 1 whilst i am in group 2. He has 5 days avail and i have 16. why would i get the trip and not him?
i try and read the PWA and its like a foreign language. i promise have tried to read section 23 N & O. The follow on question is.... can i call scheduling and politly say i am new and stupid and to please edumacate me without ****ing anyone off and getting fired before i get off probation? i just don't really get how they award reserve and I am too stupid to understand the PWA. There is no problem calling Skeds. If you are uncomfortable doing that call 1 800 USA ALPA. Ask for the scheduling guys. They are short handed as one of them sadly just lost his wife but if you leave a message should get back to you quickly. The have the exact same computer access as crew scheduling and can quickly confirm the coverage.
I suspect you will find the other pilot was not legal for one reason or another. He may have had a 30 hr off in 7 issue or 100 in 28 ect...
