I know that flowers and asparagus are among the highly prized shipments from SA. When I'm on those flights there doesn't seem to be a plethora of high passenger fares.
All that may very well be true, but that is another solid reason not to open Pandora's Box. If it isn't an area of high profitability then the company surely shouldn't "need" the small amount of additional revenue brought in through codeshare on these routes. Buy enough planes to operate those routes yourself or forego any thought of additional revenue through codeshare. Giving ANY codeshare relief during these times of record profits is the height of foolishness.
