Nature will simply take its course, no release is even necessary. Being released guarantees the demise of the company very quickly. Doing nothing just lets the company bleed out a slow death as flying is forced to be given back. Doesn't matter anyway, as this is the end game for all regionals in the future.
It is abundantly clear that both sides are willing to let the company die, and that may not be such a bad thing (in general for the industry, obviously sucks if you are a pilot employed there).
