When you knock out your ATP checkride you'll have to do a VMC demo unless you already have a commerical/Private MEL rating (with a C/L rest.)...that should be all you need to get rid of the C/L thrust restriction.

I would say the F-18 still has the restriction...since the Eagles' engines are wider and it still is considered C/L thrust.
