Before you think about how to set up your cockpit in a fighter, I would take it one step at a time. FIRST, get into military pilot training. SECOND, do well in T-37/T-6's and move on to the fighter track (ie T-38's). THIRD, do well in T-38's and get your fighter of choice. FOURTH, don't wash out of FTU and get on to your ops squadron as a qualified fighter guy. THEN, worry about your centerline thrust restriction. IMHO, that's sound advice.
