I'm ERAU CFI and I plan to go back to USAF and try to get UPT. Here we get our SEL/MEL commercial certificates and MEI, but reading about this centerline thrust restrictions make me wonder if what Im doing here in ERAU is not going to be wortht it since if I go to the USAF and I get fighters (wich I want) is all going to count as center thrust.
Any opinions?
Before you think about how to set up your cockpit in a fighter, I would take it one step at a time. FIRST, get into military pilot training. SECOND, do well in T-37/T-6's and move on to the fighter track (ie T-38's). THIRD, do well in T-38's and get your fighter of choice. FOURTH, don't wash out of FTU and get on to your ops squadron as a qualified fighter guy. THEN, worry about your centerline thrust restriction. IMHO, that's sound advice.
