Right on Brad! This is the last contract for me most likely. I would like to feel that we are not cost neutral or COLA minus health care and retirement. Letting the A plan die on the vine while so many of us have no time for a B fund to evolve is not a viable option for me. Basing the retirement on the lesser of anything that includes sick bank is fraught with risk. I speak with folks frequently whose full sick banks are depleted due to circumstances beyond their control. Very often these crew members are in the twilight of their careers, with no time to rebuild the bank. I quite frankly can't believe even the company would see this as a good idea. Sick pilots in the cockpit, hiding deficiency from the company, the FAA, and each other is never a good thing. Sick bank should only be to help you get to retirement.....not fund it. We have an A fund for that. Let's maintain it.
