I admit you've shown the trend is more balanced farther back than I realized. However, the vast majority of captains I've flown with are military which puts their hire dates in the mid-80s to late '90s. Anyone trying to get to Delta is familiar with the perception that they prefer military. That perception has it's roots in the time period these Captains were hired. I'm happy the stats are showing a more balanced hiring trend.
In the end, we can hopefully agree they will hire anyone that is the right fit for Delta, regardless of their background.
