Based on their hiring forecast, I wonder if most of the flying will come from mainline DC9 replacements? Only time will tell.
I don't work for them, however have strong connections inside both management and the line pilot group. Most of the employees over there are former coworkers and people that I consider friends.
I would surmise that some of it will be DC-9 type flying, however NWA also has plans for on property delivery of Embraer aircraft as a replacement for the 9's. I wouldn't expect to see them go anytime in the immediate future.
