I don't know any such thing. I consider my sick/DSA more like insurance to be used as needed. When the Company and Union priced this insurance it was term insurance. You want it to be a whole life insurance policy. What the company and Union have come up with is similar to a variable life insurance policy.
I've heard, but have no first hand knowledge that the company wanted something similar to this (partial payout of DSA) the past two contracts. But, the union said no to it because it would encourage pilots to fly sick.
Does anyone know any legitimate details to this apocryphal story or is it just the crew bus driver talking?
