True but if you have already maxed out your DSA and are eligible for excess sick payout then the same thing happens...
The same thing does not happen. The current system of DSA overage payout does encourage not using sick leave. But, the TA takes the encouragement one step further. Because a pilot's use of sick leave will be deducted from their final 2 yrs income, for bonus calculations.
