As a group we are suffering a bit of cognitive dissonance on the subject of sick bank and retirement. Recall that for years prior to the TA a common crew lounge discussion citing the unfairness that your sick bank disappeared at retirement. Many of our group went on to pontificate that we should be compensated some portion of that bank at retirement... That was an argument I heard many of us make during the years prior to the TA, now just the reverse...
