Default Married to the company

Our relationship to the company is very much like a marriage, painful at times, but financially better to stick it out. However, when you go "all in", either in a marriage or an airline company, you have certain expectations. In a marriage, you want your spouse to remain desireable, maybe older, but still lights up the room. When you pick an airline, especially if it is financially sound, you expect to have the same earning potentail, quality of life and retirement as those before you. This TA give FedEx pilots neither, but divorce is painful in an "all in" job. Most people in this situation muddle along in a miserable relationship until death, but, others take the opporuntity to make their togetherness better. If we, the FedEx pilots, vote yes for this TA, we will be a miserable group. Broken and waiting for the inevitable end! However, if we regroup, and meet our spouse head on as equals, we can have a mutual relationship that works for all. Giving in to this TA is not productive to either group, I don't care what the company thinks. A happy employee will go to great lengths to get the job done, an unhappy employee won't. FedEx always wants the "can do" attitude, however, after awhile, it has to be a two way street. Now is not the time to give into a very long term miserable existence with a fat spouse that expects us to wait on them. Hiring is competive, qualified pilots are becoming a shortage and "Winter is Coming" let's not sell ourselves short on this TA.

Just looking at the other marriages around us; UPS, SWA, Delta, looks like we all need more counselling!
