Grumble- I'm retirement eligible in January not retiring in January. My exit made a little earlier then planned by my position on the 365 list.
So, anyone else have thoughts on the regionals? Is it a viable plan to put apps in with the Majors wait a month or two to see if there is any interest.... If not apply to the regionals? Or am overlooking something.

That's what I'm doing now. I had TERA approved in June, updated my apps to the majors and started looking at something to do after I get out. I got the regional idea from some friends in my position and put my app into Horizon in Aug (I'm retiring to Spokane) got an interview and CJO at the end of Sep. If you read the other threads on here about who's hiring there is a slight slow down in hiring and class dates with Delta as they add sims. There is likely going to be some time between retiring and getting an interview so I think the regionals are a good place to keep flying without paying for it and get a little 121 experience.
