Whether you agree with the 1500 hour rule or not, it is probably one of the best things to happen for regional airline pilots. Other merits of the rule are debatable. When you get your time, you'll appreciate that rule. Plenty of jobs out there to build time. Cargo, Aerial Survey, Skydiving, Traffic watch, ect.. Your position is not unique. It really isn't hard to build 1500 hours.
