I think we had a sick bank flyback at brand X that helped with the lower number of hours per year. I never used it so someone else needs to weigh in on the details.
Lets say you call in sick for a 5 day (or larger) trip but the sniffles go away sooner than that. You could call in well, pick up a trip that touches the footprint of the trip you called in sick for and pay yourself back the sick time for a future disaster.
Not that it's my job to fix the companies theoretical sick abuse problem, but that may help that problem too
