If your sources are in any way tied to Jetblue Airbus pilots, then I would take their statements with a grain of salt. I've never seen a group as afraid of, and butthurt over, an aircraft as many of the bus guys were toward the 190. Their comments are purely wishful thinking that the 190 will go away for whatever reason...mostly made up ones.
The 190 had the same cost problems that any modern aircraft has at its rollout. Over time it is now as dispatch reliable and cost effective as it was planned to be. Jetblue also effed up their heavy MX contract because they tried to go cheap. Barring that, it wouldn't even be mentioned that MX costs are out of proportion.
