The whole idea of a 'representative democracy' (read MEC) is that those elected (or appointed) REPRESENT the constituency. That's YOU.
If they don't, 1.) tell them to do so, and if they don't (2.) boot their butts out and get new ones who understand this simple principle.
They don't work for airline management, they don't work for ALPA (or other national) union HQ. They work for YOU.
True, they may have to deal with all of the above, but in finding their way through conflicting interests, they can't loose sight of the basic principle: They work for YOU. Part of their job involves explaining those conflicting interests to you, but it's too darn easy for them to forget: They work for YOU.
