Wife and kids are are 2000 miles away staying at the in-laws while I am trying to sell our very barren house and wait for a class date. Best guess is late Jan-late Feb for indoc. Come 30 Nov, I'd like to move temporarily to ATL while awaiting training, probably to a furnished apartment or extended stay condo and get the family back together.

Anyone have suggestions on a part time/full time job for 2-3 months? I'm leaning toward flight instruction out of an Atlanta area FBO. Something like ATP training where I can finish a up with a student in a week or so. Secondary plan, Home Depot. Tertiary plan, Starbucks barista. Thoughts?
Depends. Are you a member of the check of the month club? I'm assuming you are not? One guy told me a lot of amigos in various airline pools paint homes. I told him my wife says I do home remodeling projects way too slow (too much of a perfectionist). He said, "Well, paint fewer homes then." :-) On a serious note, I don't know if I'd instruct just because I'd be wary of getting involved in some kind of FAA "incident" or "accident". I might do that after all but it would not be at the top of my list. I seriously thought, "Well, maybe I'll only instruct in NON-retractable gear planes!"

(BTW, I'm in the check of the month club and even that doesn't please some people. My wife said she hoped for $100K in savings and a job in hand before I retired. I don't think she understands how fortunate we are to be hired only 4 months after leaving the AF. )
