Default ASA and XJT to remain separate for a while?

According to an e-mail from the ASA CNC, the company introduced the option of keeping two separate contracts while giving each side modest contract improvements. Sounds like the MEC with the CNC are going to explore this pathway.

I'm not saying that I would be opposed to that, but I would need more information on the recent negotiations between us and our mainline partners with regards to contract extensions and rates for flying (they're noticing, right?). XJT is crying that the end is near, but all the signs (i.e. EFB introduction) say otherwise.

Something smells here though. A few years ago, SKYW management was open to combining ExpressJet into Skywest and now we're headed in a totally different direction.
