While I see the humor and sarcasm in your post, just think of it this way. The 10-15% of folks that make the long trips longer are a needed entity. They serve to keep the spotlight from ever falling on the rest of the seniority list. And there are specific advantages to be had when one is out of the spotlight of notoriety.
