Fortunately I don't drink and fly, just drink and post. It's not entitlement, I certainly do not feel entitled to anything, I've been doing this long enough to know that isn't how it works. I'm self-aware enough to know that it's just plain old, regular style jealousy.

Should I be jealous? Probably not. But I am. I've applied off and on to Atlas for over four years, love the style of flying, know it, not a huge desire to bail in the first year like so many do, and I have a pretty decent resume. I'm not dumb enough to answer interview questions like some of the previously mentioned imbeciles, and I've worked many an 18 hour day with guys to be followed with great times at adult beverage distributors. So yes, I'm jealous. Especially since some of these pilots will bail and say they didn't know their schedule would change so much, they can't sleep, etc. As far as humility, well, if you've seen some of my landings, humility is the only thing I've got going!

But I digress. If we ever get the chance to fly together, beers on me. I'm not as complete a tool as I play on TV.
Fair enough! I realize that the condition of anonymity mixed in with the fact you are typing on a keyboard (as opposed to speaking face to face) makes one's conduct on here different from how they may normally act. I have certainly had that happen to me.

It's okay to be jealous. I'm jealous of all my colleagues who have gone to Delta, American, United, etc. But I'm also very happy for them.

If you know someone at Atlas, an LOR is the quickest way in. Otherwise keep your head up because it's unlikely you won't get an email at some point. It just might take a while.

P.S. New hires never buy the beers
