Not everywhere, but he or she might have squadron mates that can grease the skids.

I did a read through of this thread and it seems that some are and some are not, and that right now the new hires are being sent to Florida.
Any clarification on this? Also, do I have a chance at getting stationed in Las Vegas? From reading on here it seems like a pretty small chance.
Arouth, everything here is so random. Las is one of the more senior bases and being junior here is a nightmare. We have no contract, and probably won't have one for a long time. Plan for the worst, is a good g4 mentality. You will probably get tdy'd to florida for an indeterminate amount of time, first year pay and a dollar an hour per diem. While the new hires are getting put up in decent hotels, I know some tdy’s are relegated to comfort inn quality type hotels.
While we do have day trips, that is not a guaranteed constant, and there are in fact charters and a nearly non existent maintenance department that will leave you with an old under cared for dog. Leaving you stranded somewhere.
At swa your base trips including reserve are 15 days off, line bidding and the ability to move your schedule around, or drop trips. At g4 you will have none of that. And las runs junior, so you could hold it right away. Combined with pay, work rules it's a different planet.
Spirit has a decent contract with good work rules, symmetrical schedules and line bidding. From what I hear las is not so senior and is currently running 2.5 year upgrade in las. If you’re a year out, consider one of the job fairs that swa and spirit will attend. Aim high, or higher than g4.
